BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Keith Muratori of Shelton has spent the past 15 years making a career out of fighting fires in Bridgeport. But despite his demanding job, he hasn’t lost sight of his passion for photography.

Muratori, who is assigned to Rescue Company 5, still responds to fires while off duty. But instead of working to put out buildings that are ablaze, he comes to capture every moment of the fight as it unfolds.

According to Muratori, he began his website -- found here -- at about the same time as he began his career.

“I started it when I became a career firefighter,” he said. “I was always into photography, so at that point I started shooting fires  and incidents while off duty and reporting it to the various fire service publications and websites. It just kind of grew from there.”

In commenting on how his craft has evolved over the years, Muratori shared footage with the Daily Voice of the three-alarm fire that consumed two homes and left 40 people homeless last week, in a new medium he has quickly learned to use.

“Drone photography and video is just a new and exciting addition to my business. My fire photography has evolved through the years and this is just a great new platform for it,” Muratori said.
