Driver Speeds Off After Hitting Child In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. — A driver fled the scene after striking a child with his car in the area of Fairfield Avenue and Cedar Street in Norwalk Thursday night, according to the Hour.

The child was struck in a parking area at around 10:19 p.m. and sustained non life-threatening injuries, according to the Hour. The child had been with their mother crossing the parking area when the car hit the child at a high rate of speed and left, according to the Hour.

The driver was described as a heavy-set male driving a black Lexus SUV, the Hour reported. The car was blasting loud music and continued onto Fairfield Avenue, running a stop sign in the process, police told the Hour.
