Cops: Man Tried To Pass Fake $100 Bills In Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – A 21-year-old man was arrested on charges of trying to use counterfeit $100 bills at three different businesses in Greenwich, according to police.

Michael Perez, of the Bronx, N.Y., was arrested Tuesday at a gas station on West Putnam Avenue. Officers found evidence that Perez had allegedly used the counterfeit bills, police said.

Perez was charged with three counts of first-degree forgery, two counts of sixth-degree larceny and criminal attempt.

He was held at the Greenwich Police Department on $50,000 bond, pending arraignment at Stamford Superior Court.
