Bridgeport Man Found Guilty Of Norwalk Home Invasion, Assault Of Girlfriend

NORWALK, Conn. — A jury found a Bridgeport man guilty of breaking into a Norwalk girlfriend's home and viscously beating her, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Nector Marrero, 34, was convicted of home invasion, burglary and assault after 90 minutes of deliberation by the jury, according to the Stamford Advocate. He faces a minimum of 10 years in prison, and as much as 50 years, the Stamford Advocate reported.

The conviction comes from an incident that took place on Laura Street in Norwalk on Dec. 27, 2015, according to the Stamford Advocate. The woman suffered severe injuries including a fractured orbital socket, a broken nose and a broken molar, according to the Stamford Advocate. 

She told police the night of the incident that Marrero had attacked her, though she later told a state's attorney that she had fallen down the stairs, the Stamford Advocate reported. Marrero later confessed to beating her, the Stamford Advocate reported. 

Marrero will be sentenced on Aug. 10, according to the Stamford Advocate.
