Blood Links Mass. Man To Decade-Old Greenwich Burglary

GREENWICH, Conn. — A Massachusetts man was charged with breaking into a Greenwich home more than 10 years ago after police linked his DNA to blood left at the scene, according to Greenwich Time.

Leone M. Figueroa, 44, of Springfield, Mass. was charged with burglary and criminal mischief in connection with the burglary that took place at a home on James Street in May of 2006, Greenwich Time reported. Figueroa is accused of smashing pen a window to enter the home before running off when the homeowner caught him and called police, according to Greenwich Time.

Figueroa cut himself while smashing the window, and the blood sample was tested and matched with him, according to Greenwich Time. He was arrested this week, and was held on a $100,000 bond, according to Greenwich Time.
