$50K Reward Offered For Info On Fairfield Robbery

FAIRFIELD, Conn. – The Federal Bureau of Investigation has offered a $50,000 reward for help finding the suspects in a Fairfield bank robbery in 2010.

The three to five men involved also are suspects in four other robberies in Connecticut the past two years.

The Fairfield incident was the first of the series, officials said. It occurred Sept. 24, 2010, at the Fairfield County Bank branch on Bronson Road. Three men wearing masks entered the bank with handguns and tied up three employees in the bank. They then fled in a car onto Interstate 95. The car, which was found abandoned at a rest stop on the northbound side, had been stolen in Bridgeport, police said.

Similar cases occurred  Dec. 28, 2010 in Orange, April 20, 2011 in Southbury, Oct. 7, 2011 in Cromwell and April 19 in Wallingford, police said. In each case, between three and five men entered a bank wearing masks. The suspects then hold employees and customers inside at gunpoint while clearing out teller drawers and fleeing.

The FBI has released photos from a few of the crime scenes, which are posted above. They also are looking for information on a white Cadillac Deville, made between 2000-02, which might be connected to the Cromwell robbery.

Federal investigators are offering a $50,000 reward for “information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction” of the suspects. The individual banks also are offering rewards of up to $10,000 each, the FBI says.

Anyone with information regarding these bank robberies is asked to call the FBI’s New Haven office at 203-777-6311. All calls are confidential.
