On Friday, four 19-year-old men set out in two two-person kayaks from Burwell Street to Peach Island, NBC Connecticut said.

The Norwalk Fire Department's Marine Unit responded after 911 callers reported hearing cries for help, NBC Connecticut said.

The men had lifejackets aboard but were not wearing them, NBC Connecticut said. The lifejackets were lost when the kayaks capsized, but the men made it safely to Peach Island, where they were rescued, NBC Connecticut said.
