To the editor:
I read with great amusement, the letter of my counterpart on the Republican Committee in support of his candidate for State Representative in the 150th District.
I am proud to lead a party that puts forth a candidate as strong as Jill Oberlander to help Greenwich lead in the Connecticut Legislature. Jill’s virtues go much farther than just a seat at the table in Hartford. She is a talented attorney, great mother, community volunteer and strong voice for our town. She tells it like it is, and she is the most ethical candidate of either party I have ever seen in my years in office.
She has real experience in the issues that matter to Greenwich and her district, and above all she just keeps asking what is right. She won’t let people like me play politics with the issues that matter and she has earned my greatest respect, as I hope she has earned yours. Jill has run a relentlessly positive campaign, and the letter of Mr. Campbell was just a screed that seems to think the key to being a legislator in Connecticut is being against our fellow “Connecticutters” who happen to live in cities, combined with some tropes about loyalty to her party and an odd attack on the great and difficult skill of passing the bar in New York. He spent the letter just on the attack, attack, attack, and made not one mention of the many virtues of his own party candidate. Enough is enough. Please vote for the candidate with the vast experience and personal character to represent Greenwich. Please vote for Jill Oberlander because she’s the right choice for Greenwich.
