Halloween is on Friday evening. The weather is going to be better than it has been in previous years. The challenge for the town and Police Department: to monitor streets in the town –- to reduce the possibility of mischief, property damage and injuries.  Years ago, Halloween was very busy for our police department –- lots of bad conduct and mischief. We responded by increasing patrols in the town –- especially in neighborhoods that have experienced problems in the past. Every Halloween, I join the police chief or captains driving around town stopping by at homes and neighborhoods that had experienced problems in previous years.  If you would like me to stop by at your house during the evening to check up to make sure that your area is receiving the attention it deserves – please advise.  If your neighborhood experienced any Halloween related incident in the past and you want us to remind the police of the problems your street encountered, please advise.  My e mail is pfeiner@greenburghny.com. We want you to be safe and to feel safe. We will do what we can to make this Halloween an evening that will be enjoyable for your family.
