Kirshaw was born March 28, 1937, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She married to Charles Kirshaw in 1957 and moved to Montreal, Quebec where she raised her four children. The family relocated to Old Greenwich, Connecticut in 1976. She graduated from the New York Botanical garden with a degree in Master Gardening. She was a member of the Old Greenwich Garden Club.
Kirshaw is survived by her husband, Charles; four children; and eight grandchildren; two brothers; and a sister in Canada.
A private memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
