GREENWICH, Conn. - Vera E. Johnson of Greenwich died Friday, Nov. 8. She was 88.
Johnson was born Feb. 16, 1925, in New York City, daughter of William Thompsett and Anna Sadlon Thompsett. She was a graduate of Greenwich High School, class of 1943. She was part of the Civil Air Patrol during World War II, and a member of the Glenville Seniors.
Johnson is survived by her husband, Robert C. Johnson; daughters, Susan Johnson and Diane Hawreluk; sister, Irene Stewart; two grandchildren; three nephews; and a great grandson. She was predeceased by her parents.
Calling hours are Monday, Nov. 11 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Fred D. Knapp & Son Funeral Home, 267 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich. There will be a private graveside service Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Johnson’s name to the American Red Cross, 99 Indian Field Road, Greenwich, CT 06830.
