Thomas P. Schinto, 65, Formerly Of Greenwich, Waiter, Manero's Steak House

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Thomas Patrick Schinto of Los Angeles, formerly of Greenwich, Conn., died Sunday, Oct. 19. He was 65.

Schinto was born March 17, 1949, in Greenwich, Conn. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1967. Shortly after graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, served in Vietnam for 14 months, and was discharged. He had many different jobs including working as a mason in the construction of the American Can complex, as a waiter at Manero's steak house in Greenwich, working on an oil rig on Sakhalin Island off the coast of Siberia, and for many years as a bartender at Chez Jay in Santa Monica. He spent much of his life living in California although Greenwich was always home to him.

Schinto is survived by his brother, William C. Schinto, Jr. of Greenwich; sister, Carol Schinto Elder (Crawford), of Mansfield, Conn.; two nephews; and former wife, Ann Sinnott, in Dallas, Texas. He was predeceased by Ricky Holmes.

There will be a private burial service at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
