GREENWICH, Conn. -- Susan R. Tosches, a resident of Greenwich, died Monday, Feb. 1. She was 89.
She attended local schools and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1944 and the Greenwich Hospital School of Nursing in 1947.
Her career at Greenwich Hospital spanned 40 years, where she spent most of her time as a nurse in the emergency room.
She is survived by her husband, Carmine; her children, Susan and Cynthia of New York City, Steven (Carole) of Princeton Junction, N.J., Christine Lambert (Guy) of Bel Air, Md., and Maria Hitt (Randall) of West Suffield; grandchildren, Jason and Casey Tosches, John and Thomas Lambert, Natalie and Robbie Hitt; and numerous nieces and nephews.A Mass of Celebration will be celebrated at St. Mary Church, 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich on Friday, Feb. 5, at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Nurses Alumnae of the Greenwich Hospital Association, c/o Greenwich Hospital, 2 Perryridge Road, Greenwich, CT 06830, attention: Sue Martin, Treasurer.
