Meegan, a sophomore at the University of Connecticut, was the son of John V. and Kerri (Downey) Meegan.
He played soccer at Ridgefield High School and club soccer and rugby at UConn, where he was a pre-teaching major.
Meegan is also survived by his brothers Sean P. Meegan and Taylor G. Meegan; grandparents Kay and Phillip Downey; and cousins and friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, Vincent and Grace Meegan
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Roman Catholic Church at 520 Ridgebury Road in Ridgefield. The family will receive friends at St. Elizabeth Seton Church following the Mass.
Interment will take place at the direction of the family.
Contributions in Meegan's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Kane Funeral Home at 25 Catoonah St. in Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.
