Rosina Scholz, 80, Former Greenwich Resident, Retired GTE Employee

TOLLAND, Conn. - Rosina "Pat" Scholz of Tolland, formerly of Greenwich, died Sunday, March 30. She was 80.

Scholz was born April 16, 1933, in New York City, to Felice and Olympia Tranchese. She grew up in New York City. After her marriage, she moved to Greenwich. She worked at GTE.

Upon her retirement, she relocated to Tolland, where she was a supporter of the arts community and served as president of The Arts of Tolland.

Scholz is survived by her husband, Arthur G. Scholz; children, Elizabeth Scholz Koiva (Allan), Carl Scholz (Leah), Eric Scholz (Darcy) and Nancy Scholz Gerardi (Bill); 10 grandchildren; sisters, Connie DePalma and Camille Scavetta; brother, Frank Tranchese (Barbara); many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Elsie Fragapane and Pauline DeMicco; and brother-in-law, Walter Scholz. She was predeceased by her parents; and first-born son, Phillip Scholz.

Calling hours are Wednesday, April 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Road, Tolland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 3, at St. Matthew Church, Tolland, followed by a burial at South Cemetery, Tolland.
