COS COB, Conn. - Robert John Bray of Cos Cob died Monday, Sept. 23. He was 77.
Bray was born March 6, 1936, in the Bronx, N.Y., to Ethel Strachan and Edward J. Bray, and moved with his family to Old Greenwich in 1944. He attended Old Greenwich School and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1954 and St. Lawrence University in 1958, earning a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He served in the U.S. Army.
He worked in the banking industry for 30 years, primarily at State National Bank of Connecticut and became senior commercial loan officer and vice president.
Bray is survived by his wife, Sigrid (Sigi); children Edward J. Bray (Heather) of Riverside, Robert A. Bray and Scott C. Bray of Cos Cob; seven grandchildren; and brother, Edward (Marilyn) of Prescott Valley, Ariz. He was predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours are Sunday, Sept. 29, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fred D. Knapp Funeral Home, 267 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 30, at the funeral home.
