Ralph R. Longo Jr., 77, Of Greenwich, Owned Construction Firm

GREENWICH, Conn. - Ralph R. Longo Jr., of Old Greenwich and South Palm Beach, Fla., died April 26. He was 77.

Longo was born May 21, 1935, in the Chickahominy section of Greenwich to Ralph Longo Sr. and Josephine Chiappetta Longo.

Longo graduated from Greenwich High School in 1953. After high school he went into the family business, which he took over and ran at the young age of 21. He was the president of Ralph Longo Construction Corp. and its predecessor Ralph Longo & Sons. Over the years his firm worked to build roads, houses, office buildings, condos etc. He was involved in numerous real estate projects in Greenwich and Stamford. He was an original partner of Acura of Westchester.

Longo is survived by his wife, Barbara (Vizzo); his daughter, Valerie Conlon (Ralph); son, Ralph III (Gina); six grandchildren; sister, Connie (Joe) Caputo; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Pat and John; and sister, Millie.

Calling hours are Monday, April 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 30 at 9 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena in Riverside. Entombment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich.
