GEYSERVILLE, Calif. - Paul C. Disario, of Geyserville, formerly of Old Greenwich, died June 15. He was 93.
Disario was born in Boston, Mass. He received a B.S. in engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 1942. He served in World War II as lieutenant in the U. S. Navy in air engineering at naval air stations and aboard aircraft carriers in the Pacific. Following the War, he received a M.S. from Harvard University.
He and his wife Dorothy moved to Geyserville in 2005 from Old Greenwich where they had lived for 45 years. He held engineering and executive positions in engineering and construction companies, starting with the M.W. Kellogg Company in 1949. In 1961, he joined the Overmeyer Company where he served as director of engineering and construction, and as president of its subsidiary, the Green and White Construction Company. From 1972 until his retirement, he was vice president and a director of the Burns & Roe Company.
During the 1980's, Disario left his retirement to oversee construction of the Stamford, Connecticut Transportation Center, a project that was then more than 75 percent completed.
Disario was a contributor to engineering journals, was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Disario is survived by his wife Dorothy of Geyserville; children: Paul of Sacramento, Calif.; Michele Stratton of San Francisco, Calif.; Gabrielle of Sebastopol, Calif.; Elizabeth Lighton of New York, N.Y.; and Andrea Marcusa of New York, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 18 at St. Catherine of Siena Chapel in Riverside.
