Olga Z. Egan, 99, Of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. - Olga Z. Egan of Greenwich died Tuesday, Sept. 30. She was 99.

Egan was born Jan. 23, 1915, in Woonsocket, R.I.,  to Madeline and Elias Zachary. She moved to New York City in 1930 and worked for many years as a clerk at the Oppenheimer-Collins Department Store in New York City and then as an executive assistant at Commercial Union until her retirement in 1970. She was active in the American Cancer Society for many years. She spent her last years in Greenwich with her son. She was a parishioner at St. Rochs, and was a member of their senior community.

Egan is survived by her children, June Albert of Tucson, Ariz., and Howard J. Egan, Jr., of Greenwich; sister, Estelle Wheeler of Grafton, Mass.; a niece and two nephews; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Howard J. Egan; sisters, Jacqueline Vario, Ann Mackewicz and Mary Gruczka; son-in-law, John Albert; nephew, Richard Mackewicz; and niece, Judith Cafarella.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
