Monica Lahey, 83, Of Greenwich, Founder Of Lahey & Moore

GREENWICH, Conn. - Monica McAndrews Lahey of Greenwich died Thursday, July 10. She was 83.

McAndrews was born July 3, 1931, in Marshfield, Wis., to Patrick William and Ruth Pellegrin McAndrews. She was raised in Clinton, Iowa, before relocating to Westchester County, N.Y., in 1960. She later moved to and lived in New York City for several decades before finally settling in Greenwich in 1994.

She began a professional career at HR Television in New York City in 1960, followed by a rise through the ranks at the CBS Television Network. She retired from her position as manager of National Press and Affiliate Relations in the spring of 1991. After her retirement from CBS, with her friend Enid Moore, she founded a startup public relations firm, Lahey & Moore, and managed the firm for the next 10 years.

McAndrews is survived by her children, William H. Calnan (Barbara), and Laura Calnan Gunn (Philip D. Gunn) of Greenwich; five grandchildren; brothers, George McAndrews (Kathy) of Barrington, Ill., and Tom McAndrews (Peggy) of Ponte Vedra, Fla.; and many nieces, nephews; and grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her parents; brothers, Jack, Jerry and David McAndrews; sister, Virginia Clark; and infant daughter, Lisa Calnan.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at St Mary Church, 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Mary Church.
