Miriam Moran, 82, Of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Miriam K. Moran, a Greenwich resident, died Thursday, Oct. 22 at Greenwich Hospital. She was 82. 

She was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Boston, Mass., to William and Hilda Kirkwood. She graduated from Trinity College in Washington, D.C., and also attended Harvard Graduate School of Education. 

Moran was a teacher and enjoyed working with children of special needs. She served on the board of directors of India House and New York Medical College and as a trustee of the HealthCare Chaplaincy Network of New York. In addition to these accomplishments, Moran also was chairman emeritus of The Compound, a member of the Weeburn Country Club and Woodway Country Club of Darien, the Blind Brook Country Club of Rye Brook, the New York Yacht Club, the Indian Harbor Yacht Club and Belle Haven Club of Greenwich, India House of New York, The Bath and Tennis Club and many more.

She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Moran, and son-in-law, James Livziey. 

She is survived by her children, Suzanne (James) Rodenbush of Cheshire, Walter (Danielle) Schwind of Fairfield, Georgia Livziey of Jefferson, Mass., and Scott (Ashley) Schwind of Darien; and seven grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be privately held. Memorial donations may be made in Moran's name to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation at 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
