Michael Thomas Jenkins, 65, Lifelong Greenwich Resident

GREENWICH, Conn. - Michael Thomas (Hawk) Jenkins, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, died Saturday, Feb. 10, in Palm Harbor, Fla. He was 65.

Jenkins was born Dec. 13, 1947, in Greenwich, to Helen Patricia Jenkins and Benjamin Jenkins. He attended St. Roch's Grammar School and St. Mary High School. Jenkins worked for the town of Greenwich Parks and Recreation Department for 36 years before retiring to Florida in May 2012.

Jenkins is survived by his wife, Carol; his brother, Richard Jenkins (Mary); and two nieces, two nephews and many cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Michael.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church at 178 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich, at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 9. Internment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in his memory to The Michael T. Jenkins II Scholarship Fund at Mitchell College, Advancement Office, 437 Pequot Ave., New London, CT 06320.
