Michael P. 'Irish' Moran, 81, Of Greenwich; Veteran Worked For Post Office

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Michael P. "Irish" Moran died in Greenwich. on Friday, Jan. 3. He was 81.

Moran was born in the Bronx on April 15, 1933, to Michael and Mary Moran. He served in the Navy on the USS Bordelon during the Korean War. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in the Bronx, retiring in 1995.

Moran is survived by his daughters, Holly Dohmann (Chris) and Lucille Chittenden (Tim). He is also survived by five four grandchildren; sisters Nora Marovich, Rose Theresa Cappelli and Margaret Moran; and nieces and a nephew.

Moran was predeceased by his brothers Martin and Edward, sister Mary Watson and nephew Michael.

Visitiation is on Saturday, from 12-1 p.m. and a memorial service honoring Moran starting at 1 p.m. at Leo Gallagher's Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich.
