DANBURY, Conn. - Michael Mead Schmitt of Danbury died Thursday, Dec. 4. He was 59.
Schmitt was born March 9, 1955, in Stamford, to Michael Carl and Ann Mead Schmitt of Wilton. He was a vice president in banking in the 1980s, and worked in the specialty gas industry working for Airgas in Greenwich for the last 15-plus years.
Schmitt is survived by his wife, Paula; brothers, Christopher Schmitt (Kimberly Mithun) Schmitt of Newtown and Matthew Schmitt (Susan) of Wilton; sister, Ann Schmitt (Stephen) Morley of Georgetown; and five nephews.
A memorial service will be held Jan. 17 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Miry Brook firehouse in Danbury.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the following organizations: Trout Unlimited, Guiding Eyes for the Blind or the Humane Society.
