Mary Salamon, 88, Of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – Mary Villani Salamon of Greenwich died Monday, Aug. 27, at Greenwich Hospital. She was 88. 

Salamon was born June 29, 1924, in New York City to Dante and Anna Villani. She lived in New York until moving to Greenwich in 1965. She was predeceased by her first husband, Eugene Molinari.

In 1957, she married Mario Salamon. They worked in the restaurant business together in Greenwich for many years before his death in 1993. In her later years, Salamon worked at Hoagland’s and D.W. Rogers in Greenwich. After retiring, she volunteered at Greenwich Hospital. 

Salamon is survived by a son, Dante "Danny" (Shelley) Molinari; a sister, Eva (Louis)  Strinati; a brother, Joseph (Joyce) Villani; and many cousins, nephews and nieces. 

A private graveside service will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich. Castiglione Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
