Marjorie Stowell Foster, 67, Of Greenwich, Owned Catering Firms

GREENWICH, Conn. - Marjorie Stowell Foster of Greenwich died Sunday, Oct. 5. She was 67.

Foster was born Feb. 4, 1947, in Greenwich, to Adelaide McClary Stowell and Eldon Stowell of Greenwich. She was a chef and owner of Marge Foster Catering and was active with The Town Players of New Canaan. She graduated from Rosemary Hall in 1965. She returned to Old Greenwich to pursue a culinary career that included styling food for Pleasures of Cooking magazine at Cuisinart, and owned As You Like It catering in Greenwich, and operating the Catering Company for L'Abbee in New Canaan.

For the past 20 years, her business Marge Foster Catering provided delicacies for countless parties and events in Fairfield County. She also prepared meals for seminarians at St. John Fisher Seminary in Stamford for most of the past decade.

Foster is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Foster; sons, Timothy Foster (Jessica Heard) and Jeff Foster and his companion, Adrienne Burke of Easton; two grandsons; sisters, Carolyn Stowell of Livingston Manor, N.Y., and Barbara Stowell Yenco (Steven) of Madison; a nephews and niece; a grand-niece; and former husband, David Foster.

A small memorial brunch for family and friends will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in honor of Marge Foster to the Connecticut Food Bank.
