Handal was born Nov. 14, 1922, in El Salvador. She came to the United States shortly before World War II. She married Joseph S. Handal exactly one year before Pearl Harbor. She lived in Greenwich for almost 30 years prior to moving to Stamford in 2011.
Handal is survived by sons, Richard, Donald and Gary; five granddaughters; and 10 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sons, Roger and James.
