Loren D. Keys Jr., 90, Former Old Greenwich Resident

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - Loren Dick Keys Jr. of Chapel Hill, formerly of Old Greenwich, died July 13. He was 90.

Keys was born in 1923 in Cincinnati to Loren Dick and Ella Louise (Jones) Keys and graduated from Greenwich High School and Dartmouth College ('44) before joining the U.S. Naval Air Force.

He graduated from the Thunderbird, American Institute for Foreign Trade to begin a banking career as an intern at Citibank, then as an executive at Bankers Trust Corp. with major responsibilities in Latin America and the Far East. He lived in Phoenix; Buenos Aires; Westfield, N.J.; Greenwich; Quechee, Vt., and Chapel Hill.

Keys is survived by his sister, Carolyn (Keys) Cook of Charleston, W.Va.; sons, Loren (Dick III) of Scituate, Mass., William J. of Kennett Square, Pa., and Thomas S. of Carrboro; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Renetta; and grandsons, William James Keys and Zachary Thomas Keys.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 9, at the First Congregational Church, Old Greenwich, followed by burial at the family plot. Friends and family are welcome at a reception from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Harbor House Inn, 165 Shore Road, Old Greenwich (203-637-0145).
