GREENWICH, Conn. – Leslie "Les" Stevenson Ellis Jr., a former longtime Greenwich resident, died Jan. 15 in Richmond, Va. He was 85.
Ellis was born Jan. 18, 1928, in Richmond to Leslie Stevenson Ellis Sr. and Flossie Hubbard Ellis. An avid gardener, Ellis spent many hours making his home on Havemeyer Lane a showpiece, his family said.
He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Lou Ellis Dooley; and a brother, Benjamin Edwin Ellis.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Zumbo Ellis; two sons, Leslie Stevenson (Charmaine) Ellis III and Kevin Robert (Karen) Ellis; two daughters, Margaret Ellis (Gerard) Shaia and Kathleen Ellis (Bill) Edwards; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bliley-Central Funeral Home in Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
