Leon M. Grossman, 82, Of Greenwich, Owned Ben Franklin Stores

GREENWICH, Conn. - Leon M. Grossman of Greenwich died Sunday, Nov. 16. He was 82.

Grossman was born Jan. 27, 1932, to Jacob and Celia Grossman, and grew up in Maspeth Queens, N.Y. He served in the United States Army before taking over his father's Ben Franklin Store business with his brother. He went on to expand the business opening a chain of stores in the region. He was a member of Temple Sholom.

Grossman is survived by his wife, Paula; daughters, Carin Grossman of Greenwich and Leslie Grossman of New York, N.Y.; and brother, Marvin Grossman of Israel.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Temple Sholom in Greenwich.
