STAMFORD, Conn. – Joseph P. Strazza of Stamford died Dec. 24. He was 81.
He was born March 18, 1931, in Greenwich to Joseph and Carmella Genise-Strazza. He was a resident of Greenwich for 70 years before moving to Stamford.
Strazza served in the Army during the Korean War and was the owner and operator of a refuse company. He previously worked at Putnam Park Apartments.
He is survived by a son, Steven Strazza, of Greenwich; a daughter, Lori Strazza, of Arizona; a sister, Pat Vanech, of Stamford; his former wife, Rachael Strazza, of New York; and a grandson.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Rose Pagano, Angie Ciccone and Kitty Iverson; and two brothers, Thomas and Rocco Strazza.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home and Crematory in Stamford. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:10 a.m. Saturday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Roch Parish in Greenwich. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenwich at a later date.
