JoAnn Cox Bishop, 84, Christ Church Greenwich Spiritual Director

FT. MYERS, Fla. - JoAnn Cox Bishop died Feb. 19. She was 84.

Bishop was born Oct. 14, 1928, in St. Louis, Mo. She graduated from Vassar College, received a masters degree from the University of Cincinnati and married the Rev. John (Jack) Bishop.

Bishop was an art historian and curator at the Margaret Woodbury Strong Museum in Rochester, N.Y., before moving with her husband  to Greenwich in 1982, where together they served Christ Church for 10 years. She was a specialist in pastoral care and training, and spiritual direction. She and her husband retired to Ft. Myers, and Omena, Mich.,  in 1992.

Bishop is survived by her sons, John, Timothy, Matthew and Christopher.

A funeral service and interment of ashes will take place Sunday, April 14 at 5:30 p.m., at Christ Church, 254 E. Putnam Ave., Greenwich, followed by a reception at the Tomes-Higgins House on the church property.
