Joan Kondracki, Of Greenwich, 90

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Joan Esther Kondracki, Greenwich resident and wife of former Mayor George Thomas Kondracki of Passaic Township, N.J., died Wednesday, Feb. 11, in her room at Nathaniel Withrell in Greenwich. She was 90.

Kondracki graduated from St. John's University in New York as a member of the cadet nurse corps. She practiced as a registered nurse in public health in Manville, N.J., and later served as the corporate nurse in Boroughs Corp. in Warren, N.J., and later Beacham Pharmaceuticals in Piscataway, N.J. 

Following nursing, Kondracki joined her husband, George, to own and run Raritan Valley Liquors in Raritan, N.J. from 1976-86. 

Kondracki is survived by her son, Michael G. Kondracki, daughter-in-law Judy Liu, and grandsons Christopher M. Kondracki and Sean G. Kondracki of Stamford. She is also survived by her brother, James Bassett of Ringoes, N.J.; and her sister Mary Hutchings of Bridgewater, N.J.

An interment in the Chapel Mausoleum of St. Teresa of Avila Roman Catholic Cemetery in Summit, N.J., will occur in mid-March.

A memorial Mass will be said for Joan at Holy Spirit Parish in Stamford and St. Teresa of Avila Church in Summit, N.J., in March as well.
