Joan Frances Mills, 69, Of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. - Joan Frances Mills of Greenwich died Friday, June 28. She was 69.

Mills was born Feb. 13, 1944, daughter of Shellie Cecil Mills and Louise Elizabeth Lewis Mills. She spent a majority of her life as a resident of Greenwich, attending Hamilton Avenue School and graduating from Greenwich High School. She worked at Greenwich Hospital and Nathaniel Witherell; eventually building a career at Laidlaw Transit. She retired after 25 years of service as a school bus driver, instructor, safety specialist and finally dispatcher.

Mills is survived  by siblings, Malcolm of New York, N.Y., Reginald (Gail) of Greenwich and Kenneth (Marva), of Hampton, Va.; daughters, Thea LaTrice Mills of Mays Landing, N.J., Laura Michelle Murphy of Stamford and  Shalarese Murphy Bones Caballero of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; cousins; friends; coworkers; and neighbors. She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Ann Mills Parsons (Douglas); brothers, Shellie Jr. (Molly), Benjamin (Genita) and Gary. A viewing will be held Friday, July 5 at The Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich, CT 06830. A private Memorial Service will be held after the viewing.
