Janet Jean Hohn, 82, Of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – Janet Jean LaRosa Hohn, 82, died at Greenwich Hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 

She was born to Dr. John and Henrietta LaRosa of Pelham Manor, N.Y., on Jan. 31, 1932.

Hohn graduated from Pelham High School, and received a bachelor's degree in art history from Hollins University in Virginia, and later married her Pelham High School sweetheart, Harry G. Hohn, on June 19, 1954.

She was natural community leader, helping in many ways from PTA president to organizing major New York City blood drives. She was a competitive athlete and was the captain of tennis and paddle tennis teams. She ran in races throughout Westchester and New York City, including the Westchester Half Marathon.  

She is survived by her four daughters, Cynthia OLeary; Jennifer Purcell; Nancy Frehill; and Patricia Brehm; her twelve grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia Dumke Thomas.

A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at the Church of Immaculate Heart Of Mary at 8 Carman Road, Scarsdale, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations to Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Foundation at https://give.psp.org.
