Irma Schulz, 99, Former Greenwich Dress Designer

GREENWICH, Conn. – Irma Adele Zollinger Schulz, a former Greenwich dress designer, died July 23 at Wilton Meadows Nursing Home in Wilton. She was 99.

She was born March 7, 1913, in Winterthur, Switzerland to Alfred Zollinger and Adele Hausermann Zollinger. Educated in Switzerland, Schulz graduated from a professional finishing school for dress design and home economics in Geneva. 

In 1947, she married Hubert Schulz, a Polish economist. Together, they had a son, Steven A. Schulz. The family immigrated to the United States in 1955. Schulz worked as a dress designer for the late Madame Courtois in Greenwich until her retirement in 1977. 

Schulz was predeceased by her husband, Hubert Schulz, in 1988. She is survived by a son, Steven; a daughter-in-law, Hilkka; and many cousins in Switzerland.

Lacerenza Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling the arrangements. Services and burial will be private.
