Ida M. Williams, 89, Formerly Of Greenwich

FAIRFIELD, Conn. - Ida M. Williams of Fairfield died June 18.  She was 89.

Williams was born May 6, 1924,  in Norwalk; daughter of Harry and Dora (von Holtz) Williams. She lived in Southport, Greenwich, Greens Farms and most of her life, in Fairfield.  She was a graduate of Roger Ludlowe High School and Booth and Bayliss Business School in Bridgeport.  She worked in the office of Bryant Electric in Bridgeport for 45 years. She was a lifelong member of the Southport Congregational Church and after her retirement, she volunteered at the church’s Carousel Gift shop and served as the chairman of the Carousel Committee for several years.

Williams is survived by her sister, Mary Frances Wood; niece, Louise E. (Frederick E.) Miller, Jr. all of Fairfield; nephew, Leonard J. (Margaret R.) Wood; and a great-niece. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Robert W. (Madelyn S.) Williams; and brother-in-law, Joseph J. Wood.

Calling hours are Friday, June 21 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Shaughnessey Banks Funeral Home, 50 Reef Road in Fairfield Center. Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22 at 10 a.m. directly at the Southport Congregational Church.  Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
