Howard W. Connaughton, Jr., 78, Of Riverside, Tractor Trailer Driver

RIVERSIDE, Conn. - Howard W. Connaughton, Jr. of Riverside died Friday, Sept. 12. He was 78.

Connaughton was born Oct. 17, 1935, in New York City, to Howard W. and Jessica Hesch Connaughton, Sr. He served with the New York Air National Guard for 35 years as a master sergeant. He was a member of the Teamsters, Local 191 and drove for Valerie Transportation as a tractor trailer driver for 45 years.

Connaughton is survived by his wife, Jean M. (Culasso) Connaughton of Riverside; children, Howard W. Connaughton of San Francisco, Calif., Susan Pacocha (Michael) of Riverside, Kevin J. Connaughton of San Francisco, Calif., and Stephen J. Connaughton of Bronx, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and brother, Kenneth Connaughton of Greenwich. He was predeceased by his parents.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 20 at St. Agnes RC Church, 247 Stanwich Road, Greenwich. Interment will follow at St. Mary's RC Cemetery,Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Connaughton's memory to the Greenwich Adult Day Care , River House, 125 River Road Extension, Cos Cob, CT 06807.
