Horace C. Walton, 96, Of Greenwich, Retired Personal Financial Consultant

GREENWICH, Conn. - Horace Carver Walton of Greenwich died Nov. 18. He was 96.

Walton was born Sept. 24, 1918, in East Orange, N.J., to Donald and Florence (Carver) Walton.

He grew up in West Orange, N.J. He graduated from West Orange High School in 1936. After high school he attended university at Rutgers in Newark where he received a BBA in accounting, and received his CPA. He joined the Merchant Marine and served as ship's medic in World War Two, achieving the rank of ensign and purser.

He served in executive positions with Palmolive Peet Co., Keebler, Fairbanks Whitney Corp, Arthur Andersen, General Time, AMF, and King Industries. He retired as a personal financial consultant. He was a member of Greenwich Country Club and Dingletown Community Church. Walton is survived by his sister, Dona M. Greco of Palm Harbor, Fla.; many nieces and nephews; and other relatives. He was predeceased by his wife, Ruth Davis Wright Walton; and brother, Walter B. Walton.

A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24 at the Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, Meriden.
