Helga Garofalo, 93, Owned Riverside Garage And Riverside Auto Parts

RIVERSIDE, Conn. - Helga Garofalo of Riverside died Sept. 20. She was 93.

Garofalo was born in Germany, in 1921, she came to U.S. with her family as a child. She lived in New York briefly and has lived in Riverside for most of her life. She attended Riverside Elementary School and Greenwich High School. She worked at several places including the Electrolux Corporation. She and her husband, John, were the owners and operators of Riverside Garage and Riverside Auto Parts. She continued to manage the property until her death.

Garofalo is survived by her daughters, Nina Kane (Bob) and Lisa Wildman (Glenn); sons, John (Kate) and Chris (Diane); 12 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John; and daughter, Hedy.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27 at the First Congregational Church at 108 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich.
