Harriet I. Ornato, 78, Former Longtime Greenwich Resident

GREENWICH, Conn. AND MARCO ISLAND, Fla. - Harriet I .(Hunt) Ornato, of Old Saybrook and Marco Island, formerly a longtime resident of Greenwich, died Nov. 17. She was 78.

Ornato was born in Hartford, daughter of Harris and Irene (Lavin) Hunt. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut.

Ornato is survived by her husband, Michael A. Ornato; children, Michael H. of Norwalk, Timothy L. of Orange Park, Daniel J. of Weaverville, N.C., and Jocelyn Ornato Bramhall of Barrington, RI; 10 grandchildren; sisters, Jacqueline Flagg of Suffield and Patricia Brady of Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her parents.

Calling hours are Thursday, Nov. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fred D. Knapp Funeral Home, 267 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22 at St. Catherine's Church, 4 Riverside Ave., Riverside. Interment will be private.
