Gordon MacDonald, 84, Of Greenwich, Executive At Mitsubishi

GREENWICH, Conn. - Gordon Chalmers MacDonald of Greenwich died Wednesday, May 2. He was 84.

MacDonald was born in Boston. He served in the U.S. Army. Upon leaving the service, he graduated from Boston University and later received a degree from Harvard Business School's advanced management program. Prior to his retirement, he was the senior vice president of Mitsubishi International Corporation.

MacDonald was a member of Christ Church Greenwich and worked with the Red Barons at Greenwich Hospital. He was a former commander of the Greenwich Power Squadron; and a member of the Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club; the Old Greenwich Yacht Club; the Harpoon Club; the Horseneck Club and the Retired Men's Association of Greenwich.

MacDonald is survived by his wife, Eileen; sons, Brian MacDonald (Mary) of Riverside, Peter (Wendy) of Riverside; Keith (Janice) of Burlington, Mass.; daughter, Audrey Wilcox (J.B.) of Pittsburgh Pa.;13 grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. at Christ Church 254 E. Putnam Ave., Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made  in MacDonald's name to the Greenwich Hospital or the Alzheimer's Association Greenwich.
