SHELTON, Conn. - Frank G. DeLuca of Shelton, formerly of Greenwich, died Dec. 9. He was 90.
DeLuca was born April 6, 1925, in New York City, N.Y., to Ferdinand J. and Josephine (Lota) DeLuca and was a resident of Greenwich, for most of his life before moving to Shelton. He served during World War II. After his tour of duty, he finished his studies in 1947 at Fordham University with a B.S. degree in pharmacy. Along with his wife, they owned the Village Pharmacy in Old Greenwich, for 25 years. In 1991, he transferred the business to his son, Frank and his wife, Linda, who owned Kerr's Pharmacy in Old Greenwich. It then became known as Kerr's Village Pharmacy. He worked with his wife and son and daughter-in-law for another 15 years before retiring in 2006.
DeLuca is survived by his wife, Lucia; children, Frank DeLuca, Julie Wright, Ferdinand DeLuca, Larry DeLuca and Michael DeLuca; six grandchildren; brother, Ferdinand DeLuca; sister, Annette Scott; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Claire Giardina.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1 Platt Road, Shelton.
