Emma Josephine Williams, 92, Of Greenwich, Realtor At Ladd And Nichols, Inc

GREENWICH, Conn. - Emma Josephine Williams of Greenwich died Aug. 30. She was 92.

Williams was born Aug. 10, 1921, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Russell Hiram Clark and Emma Rynerson Clark. She was an alumna of the Barstow School in Kansas City and Wellesley College, class of ’42, and also attended The Art Institute of Kansas City and the University of Colorado. She and her husband raised their family in Kansas City, Oklahoma City and Greenwich, where they settled in 1962. They worked as Realtors at Ladd and Nichols, Inc. in Greenwich. She was a volunteer in the Greenwich Junior League, The Southern Connecticut Wellesley Club, the Art Committee of the Greenwich Library, and as a mentor to teenagers at CCI (Community Centers, Inc.)

Williams is survived by her daughters, Dodie Headington (Dan), of Martha’s Vineyard and Boca Grande, Fla., and Nancy Jane Bryant (Curtis), of Atlanta; a son, Joseph III (Joe) (Kirby), of Greenwich; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Fritz Mills; and five nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, “Joe” - Joseph Lloyd Williams Jr.

There will be A memorial service at 11 a.m. Sept. 7 at Christ Church, 254 E. Putnam Ave., Greenwich, followed by a reception in the family room at the church.
