Elizabeth Mannle, 88, Former Greenwich Realtor

GREENWICH, Conn. – Elizabeth "Betty" Daley Mannle, a former Greenwich resident, died Oct. 22 surrounded by her family. She was 88.

Mannle was born July 16, 1924, to Walter Ford Daley and Gertrude Darney Daley. Raised in Pelham Manor, N.Y., she attended Siwanoy School and graduated from Pelham Memorial High School in 1942.

While attending the College of New Rochelle, she began corresponding with a classmate's brother who was serving in the Army Air Force. After his return, she married Thomas E. Mannle on April 24, 1948.

They raised seven children and resided in Greenwich and Pelham. Mannle worked as a real estate agent and helped her husband establish Mannle-Nolan Inc., a brokerage operations firm. She and her husband traveled extensively and spent many winters in Venice, Fla.

She is survived by seven children, Thomas (Ann) Jr., of Gloucester, Robert, of Santa Fe, N.M., William (Maggy), of Branford, Conn., Susan (Richard) Kelly, of Walkersville, Md., Paul (Lori), of Portsmouth, N.H., Sara (John) Rosetti, of Beverly, Mass., and Mimi (Scott) Humphrey, of Pelham; 17 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband on March 11, 2012.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Leo P. Gallagher and Son Funeral Home in Greenwich. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St Mary's Church in Greenwich. Burial will immediately follow at St Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.
