AVON, Conn. - Eleanor H. Cakouros, of Avon, formerly of Greenwich, died Thursday, Aug. 1. She was 81.
Cakouros was born Nov. 29, 1932, to Myrtle (Minet) Cameron and Walter Cameron in Queens, New York. She was a member of St James Episcopal Church and active in the Farmington Woods community.
Cakouros is survived by her husband Steve Cakouros; children, Walter (Virginia) Hertenstein, Cincinnati, Ohio, Stephanie (Hertenstein) and Richard Bornhorst, Findlay, Ohio, Mark (Marie) Hertenstein, Avon, Tracy (Cakouros) and Brian Hilfrank, Norfolk, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Paul Hertenstein.
A celebration of Cakouros's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at St James Episcopal Church, 3 Mountain Road, Farmington.
