Eileen Gove, 92, Lifelong Greenwich Resident

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Eileen Elizabeth Gove, a lifelong Greenwich resident, died in her home Sunday, Jan. 4. She was 92.

Gove was born in Greenwich on Sept. 4, 1922, to John and Elizabeth Keating Flannery.

She was a 1940 graduate of Greenwich High School. During the summer months, she could often be found at either Todd's Point or Island Beach. She was very proud of her Irish heritage, a great listener and always enjoyed a good laugh. 

Eileen is survived by a brother, Bill Flannery; her daughter, Elizabeth Silver (Ken); sons, Warren (Carol), Russell (Caroline) and Daniel John Gove; four grandchildren, Raymond, Cheryl, Daniel and James; and six great grandchildren, Ellie, Julia, Sydney, Cole, Clara and Crew. 

She was predeceased by her her husband, Daniel Warren Gove; a brother, John Flannery; and sisters, May MacAndrews and Helen Flannery.

The family is especially grateful to Manana Zaft, her loving caregiver of eight years.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Leo P Gallagher & Son Funeral Home located at 31 Arch Street from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 9 at 12 p.m. and Internment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Greenwich home hospice.
