Dorothy Siciliano, 90, Former Cos Cob School Secretary

GREENWICH, Conn. – Dorothy Carvette Siciliano, a lifelong Greenwich resident, died Feb. 1 at Nathaniel Witherell Nursing Home. She was 90.

A retired school secretary, she worked for the Greenwich Board of Education for 44 years before retiring in 1984 from the Cos Cob School.

Born April 26, 1922, in Greenwich, Siciliano was the daughter of Charles and Louise Belmont Carvette. She  graduated from Greenwich High School in 1940. She was a communicant of St. Catherine’s Church.

An avid golfer and bowler, she was a member of the Hubbard Heights Women’s Golf Association, Women’s International Bowling Congress, Early Birds Bowling League and Greenwich Teachers Bowling League.

Siciliano was predeceased by two sisters, Beatrice Vidone and Caroline Capalbo; and a brother, Charles Carvette. She is survived by a son, Peter (Rebecca) Siciliano, of Darien; two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Nathaniel Witherell Chapel in Greenwich. Burial will be private. Castiglione Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to the Nathaniel Witherell Patient Trust Fund.
