Doris Byrne, 89, Former Longtime Greenwich Resident

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. - Doris (Dori) Lamb Byrne of Laguna Beach, a former longtime Greenwich resident, died Sept. 6. She was 89.

Byrne was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Jersey City, N.J., to Warren W. Lamb and Julia Sklenar Lamb.

She and her former husband moved to the Belle Haven neighborhood of Greenwich in 1964 where they raised their five children. They were members of the Belle Haven Club, the Indian Harbor Yacht Club and the Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club.

Byrne is survived by her partner, Howard T. Phelan; daughters, Daryl Byrne Dickson (Pete) of Nashville, Tenn., Melissa A. Byrne of Brookfield; sons, A. Gregory Byrne (Ioa), of Stamford, Warren W. Byrne (Susan), of San Francisco; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; former husband, Arthur G. Byrne; son, Geoffrey F. Byrne; granddaughter, Elizabeth E. Fleuren; and three sisters.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
