Donald J. Rich, 81, Of Greenwich, Korean War Veteran, Master Carpenter

GREENWICH, Conn. - Donald J. Rich, of Greenwich died Sunday, Aug. 25. He was 81.

Rich was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Port Chester, N.Y., to Joseph and Anna Rich. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War, after retiring he worked as a master carpenter. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus.

Rich is survived by his daughters, Ruth Erway of Norwalk and Elizabeth (Paul) Marko of Norwalk;  sister, Grace Murphy of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; sister-in-law, Dot Haas of Greenwich; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; wife, Corrine; and several siblings.

Calling hours are Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 at St. Roch’s Church in Greenwich. Burial will follow the Mass in St. Mary Cemetery in Greenwich.
